Phillip Island Winery is recruiting several casual front-of-house team members, with positions available from now as we build towards the busy summer season.

Work will continue through the summer peak and into autumn, with our greatest need for team availability between December and Easter.

Located in Ventnor, Phillip Island Winery brings together quality wine, seasonal food and relaxed hospitality in a beautiful rural setting. Our guests join us for everything from casual lunches and wine tastings to weddings, events and special celebrations.

  • Restaurant service

  • Bar and beverage service

  • Cellar door and wine tastings

  • Weddings and events

  • General front-of-house support

We’re recruiting people with different levels of hospitality experience and will match successful applicants to the work that best suits their skills and interests.

Experience is important for some positions, but attitude matters across every role. We’re looking for people who are positive, reliable, willing to learn and ready to pitch in when things get busy.

What you’ll do

Depending on your role and experience, you may:

  • Welcome guests and help create a warm, relaxed experience from the moment they arrive.

  • Take orders and serve food and beverages during restaurant service.

  • Host or assist with cellar-door tastings.

  • Help set up, serve and pack down weddings, functions and other events.

  • Maintain clean, organised and welcoming guest areas.

  • Work closely with the kitchen and wider team to keep service running smoothly.

  • Assist with other front-of-house responsibilities when needed.

Previous experience in a restaurant, winery, cellar door, bar, café or events environment will be valuable, particularly for our more experienced service roles.

A current Victorian RSA will be required for positions involving alcohol service. If you don’t yet have one, you must be willing to obtain it before commencing in a relevant role.

The details

Employment: Casual
Location: Phillip Island Winery, Ventnor, Victoria
Start dates: Positions are available now and throughout the lead-up to summer
Period: Work available through the summer peak and into autumn, with greatest availability required between December and Easter
Hours: A minimum of 10 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours during the peak period
Typical hours: Generally between 10am and 6pm, with some earlier, later or additional hours for weddings and events
Pay: Casual rates under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award, including applicable penalty rates

Accommodation is not provided by Phillip Island Winery, but we can share a current guide to accommodation options around Phillip Island and the surrounding area, including hostel or backpacker-style options where available.

You will need to be able to travel reliably to and from the Winery in Ventnor for your rostered shifts.
